IL LUMACUORE - Progetto di Land-Art ad Aviano

“Il bene avanza a passo di lumaca” – Mahatma Gandhi. Una frase citata nel libro di dialoghi tra David Krieger e Daisaku Ikeda “La scelta necessaria” Edizioni Esperia, ha spinto l’artista friulana Laura Trevisan nell’ideazione di una lumaca o di una “linea di confine” dal quale sta emergendo un cuore. Un progetto di land-art chiamato Lumacuore che ha come obiettivo la diffusione di un messaggio di cultura dei diritti umani, dell’amore per la natura e per uno sviluppo ecosostenibile del territorio.

Il Lumacuore vuole essere realizza- to entro il 2010 sulle ridenti pendici di Aviano in località Castaldia in direzione Piancavallo, Pordenone. Disegnato utilizzando anche le lenzuola del CRO, il Lumacuore verrà poi ricoperto di sassi bianchi prendendo la sua forma della grandezza di 40.000 m2. Quando le lenzuola si degraderanno, rimarranno i sassi testimoni di un’opera visibile dalla pianura friulana e dal satellite, dove ogni persona che porta il suo sasso, diventa protagonista. La prima pietra è stata posata in occasione del passaggio - 8 novembre 2009 - della Marcia Mondiale per la Pace, la non Violenza e il disarmo.

Laura Trevisan invita tutte le persone del mondo a condividere un sogno comune uscendo dal proprio guscio di appartenenza nelle sue svariate forme di chiusura in ambito politico, religioso, etnico e sociale, esortandole a collaborare alla realizzazione del Lumacuore portando lenzuola e sassi bianchi per costruire insieme una grande opera di LAND ART il cui merito andrà alle persone comuni capaci di dare vita al “monumento” della gente.

Il progetto pacifico Lumacuore nasce dalla necessità di manifestare un aspetto ancora inespresso di Aviano e della sua gente; un paesaggio la cui particolare bellezza naturale va messa in risalto. L’associazione GIM (Giovani in Movimento) di Aviano - che ha lo scopo di proporre attività per il mondo giovanile su diverse aree tematiche con musica, cinema, teatro, incontri con scrittori e artisti, progetti educativi e di prevenzione - collabora al progetto Lumacuore.

Il contributo di ognuno è importante nella realizzazione del Lumacuore, dal semplice gesto di portare le lenzuola e di posare i sassi, al sostegno economico di enti pubblici e privati che decideranno di abbracciare il pro-getto e il suo obiettivo avvalendosi dei finanziamenti che vengono erogati per iniziative umanitarie.

Good travels at a snail's pace - Mahatma Gandhi-This phrase, quoted in “Choose Hope”, a book of dialogues between David Krieger and Daisaku Ikeda, has inspired Laura Trevisan, the artist from Friuli, to design snail or perhaps a border line from which a heart takes form.

This land-art project, called Lumacuore ( a word formed by putting together the words lumaca= snail + cuore= heart) aims at spreading a cultural message on human rights, love and respect for nature as well as the environmentally friendly development of our territory. The Lumacuore will be made before the end of 2010 on the side of Piancavallo mountain in the municipality of Aviano, Pordenone. The Lumacuore will cover the perimeter of an area of 40,000 square meters (about 10 acres) and will be designed at first using bed sheets from CRO hospital. The sheets will then be covered with white stones typical of this region.

Once the sheets have decomposed, only the stones will remain to give shape to this work of art that will be visible from the friulian plain and from satellites. And every person who brings a stone to form the Lumacuore will be a promoter of this work of art. The first stone was laid on November 8th 2009, when the World March for peace and nonviolence passed trhough Aviano.

Laura Trevisan invites everybody to share a common dream, loosening political, religious, ethnic or social boundaries, partecipating in the making of the Lumacuore by bringing sheets and stones to the mountain. Thanks to these partecipants this great work of LAND ART will take shape and will become the people's “monument”.

The peace project Lumacuore springs from the need to bring out a different side of Aviano and its people together with a landscape of particular beauty that deserves to stand out. Aviano's GIM association – which organizes activities for young people concerning music, cinema, theatre, meetings with writers and artists, educational and prevention projects – is cooperating in the making of Lumacuore. Everyone's contribution to the Lumacuore is very important: from bringing sheets or stones to economic aid from institutions and private companies that decide to support this project and its aim by making use of funding available for humanitarian initiatives.
